Kipling!

(And the Big Idea doesn't let on how it was all engineered.)

(Special note: As a way of getting the new changes going as shown in the previous post, I will post this new strip earlier than usual. Hope it is enjoyable for all of you out there!)
A recap: Lol, the erudite tamandua of the Undiscombobulated Republic, chances upon the sudden entry of a female tamandua, Melusine, while taking a morning walk. A spark is instantly lit, and Lol has gone around to introduce the new friend of the country to our two main characters, Zoot and Algy outside their home - though to his embarrassment that he had not asked her for her name in advance! Now that is all sorted out, he introduces her to the Big Idea, the avatar of the republic, in the guise of a statue of Queen Victoria - with some light humor over a Kipling reference!

Lol: Hello Mum…I thought it the proper moment to introduce one Melusine!
The Big Idea: Oh yes! I had anticipated this occasion. How do you do, our Melusine?
Melusine: Good to be acquainted with you, “mum,” and if I may, your form reminds me of a poem I recall…“The Reeds of Runnymede.”
BI: Thank you…but I’m still at a loss on how “this here statue” resembles a reed.
L: I hadn’t the notion you liked Kipling!
M: You naughty thing you! I’ve never “kippled.”
